In Loving Memory of Aphrika

Aphrika came into our lives in October 2011, when we adopted her from BARC at about three months old. From that moment on, she became far more than a pet- she became a cherished member of our family. 

As a puppy, Aphrika loved to run. She would use the back fence as a ramp, as though she were training for parkour. She also seemed to know when we were coming home and always waited for us at the door- a familiar, loving welcome we will never forget.

Aphrika was never especially motivated by food, so training her required creativity and invention. She often waited until we were not looking before she ate, and she had a habit of taking pieces of kibble or bones away to hide them. We would find her stashes in our beds, beneath the furniture, and in all sorts of unexpected places- small reminders of her wonderfully unique personality.

Aphrika passed away on September 27, 2026. We will always be grateful for the years we shared with her and for the love, joy, and unforgettable memories she brought into our home. Her memory will remain with us, and we will miss her deeply.
